Gaynor Booth

I’m a Warrington girl born and bred, a qualified Nurse by background, but have worked in MedTech for a number of years. I have been very lucky to have travelled extensively with my jobs and have lived in a few places but I always come back to Warrington! This is my first radio presenting role, I have always wanted to do it and fancied going into hospital radio when I was younger but fate took a turn and I ended up training as a Nurse instead!

I absolutely LOVE music. I believe everyone has their own personal soundtrack for their life. Music brings people together, it’s something we can share yet it is also very personal. Each person’s taste in music is individual to them and that’s cool! When I was growing up, we always had music playing in the house, my Mum would play everything from Slim Whitman to the Beatles and everything in between! Maybe that is where I get my eclectic taste from. Both of my children are avid music fans. My daughter is a music artist and through her I have rediscovered the joy of live music. Very often you will find me at grassroots venues listening to up-and- coming artists and discovering new music all the time!

Warrington is my home and I am very proud to be a Warringtonian. It is where my heart and soul is! Radio Warrington is a station for the Community. I love the ‘From the Town for the Town’ slogan, and the fact we are able to provide information on what’s happening around the Town or we can bring in local people and organisations to share their stories and give updates on our sports teams (up the Wire!). But what is really special too is the ability to listen to Radio Warrington online and via the app, so we can connect with Warringtonians all over the world and bring them a little piece of home!

I am in a Hollywood action movie completely by fluke! I stumbled on to the set of The Taking of Pelham 123 when I was in New York on holiday with my Mother-in-law. We wondered what the crowd was for and I pushed my way to the front only to find Denzil Washington running down the street in front of me !!
