Jim Addison

Which show(s) do you host?

I co-host Transmission with my friend Sean Connors which goes out on the first Sunday of every month.

What is your background?

Born in 1969 I just made it as a 60s child. I grew up in the 70s and 80s listening to the charts every week. At 17 I got a job in Virgin Records and worked there until 1992 when I opened my own record shop in Earlestown called The Pink Pig. Proud to say it lasted 10 years witnessing Grunge and Brit Pop before the Internet took over.

What is your passion?

Music! I’ve been to hundreds of gigs and festivals over the past 40 years and made some good friends through my passion, including my co-presenter Sean Connors who was a record company rep who used to call into my shop in the 1990s.

Why Radio Warrington?

I appeared on Radio Warrington’s Culture Show to help promote the concerts I organise at Warrington Irish Club. I got chatting to Andy and Brian who present the show and it all went from there!

Tell us something interesting about you?

I run my own gardening business Monday to Friday and most weekends I’m putting bands on at Warrington Irish Club with Love Music Live Warrington. Artists who I have booked to date include Mark Chadwick of the The Levellers, Ben Ottewell of Gomez and Miles Hunt of The Wonder Stuff. I’m married to Karen with two kids, Jude and Connie.
