Which show(s) do you host?
I co-present “The Spin” show on Fridays at 6pm with the very talented Matt Lewis. Our aim is to bring our listeners the very best in House & Disco, both old and new, setting you up for the weekend ahead.
What is your background?
From a very young age, I had many different musical influences but caught the house music bug in its formative years. I started DJing in bars and clubs in the early ’90’s in and around my home city of Birmingham. I spent a few years living and working as a DJ in Greece and The Canaries but then had a long DJ ‘hiatus’ for a number of years. Things took off again and I started some bar residencies around the town and featuring at music festivals. The disco genre is where my passion lies and that compliments Matt’s love of House music.
Why is music your passion?
I was brought up around different genres of music from the Motown sounds that my father would play, to listening to The Jam, The Clash, Bowie and The Who (amongst many others) as a young boy that my music-mad Uncle would blast out. As many DJ’s will tell you, the ability to put smiles on the faces of a crowd of revellers is hard to beat!!
Why Radio Warrington?
Warrington has such a rich history in the dance music scene but has had little or no representation on the airwaves and Matt and I want to change that. Although I hail from Birmingham, I’ve called Warrington home for the last 20 years and I do love living here. There are many great music venues in and around the town and Radio Warrington and our show gives us the platform to promote them.
