Steve Fendick

Which show(s) do you host?

I present The Steve Fendick Show every Sunday afternoon from 2pm-4pm. The show is a mix of music and general chat which will hopefully keep you entertained for a couple of hours over the weekend.

What is your background?

I am originally from South East London and I started presenting at my local radio Station in Kent when I was 15 years old. This was where my love for radio first began. After a few years working at various local stations, I eventually ventured ‘Up North’ to study radio production at Chester University based at Warrington Campus. 20 years later I am somehow still here. Since I have lived in Warrington I have previously DJ’d at plenty of weddings and birthdays plus a few clubs in the town – however radio presenting has always been my passion and dream.

Why is music your passion?

I have always loved all types of music to be honest. Music can play a huge part in every aspect of your life. It can bring all types of memories back to you just from hearing a song. It can bring people together, whether it’s at a concert, sporting event or simply in your own home.

Why Radio Warrington?

In my opinion you cannot beat a community radio station – a station for the town. In this day and age it’s rare to still be able to have local radio stations. The fact that not only do you get to broadcast to people from the studio, you also get the chance to broadcast at local events which is something that local radio is all about.

Tell us something interesting about you?

Many moons ago I once auditioned to replace Fearne Cotton as a presenter of the old Saturday morning TV show Diggit, which I obviously didn’t end up getting. I have also previously worked with the Fun House Legend Pat Sharp.
