Sue Jones

Which show(s) do you host?

I host Sue’s Memories show every Saturday afternoon between 4pm and 6pm.

What is your background?

I am a retired assistant headteacher, originally from Wales – the land of song – but have lived and worked in Warrington for over 40 years. I have an eclectic musical taste and I am happy listening to anything from classical and opera to rock and soul. However my real loves are the golden oldies – Elvis, rock ‘n’ roll and the 70s – hence the name of my show.

What is your passion?

I got into presenting at Radio Warrington through my community role at my last school where I set up the ‘Schools Out’ show to encourage young people to get involved in their community, volunteering & the media.

Why Radio Warrington?

The more I saw the work of the station within the community, the more involved I wanted to be and I have been presenting my own show now for over 10 years.

Tell us something interesting about you?

I am a prolific traveller & adventurer trekking up Kilimanjaro, Everest Base Camp and K2. I recently fulfilled a personal dream trip to Antarctica and Easter Island. The more remote the destination, the more likely I am to want to go!
